When will then be now?
John Furrier snagged Scott Gatz and Ethan Diamond for a quickie podcast on the twin RSS releases from Yahoo! today. The interview is worth a listen. While I’m all excited about RSS in mail, the alerts stuff sounds pretty cool too. Scott talks briefly about being able to subscribe to the USGS earthquake RSS feed as an alert, allowing you to be notified via SMS, IM or email whenever the USGS publishes an update.
Buuuuuuuut, perhaps more interesting to people who may read this, Ethan can be heard dropping a little info on when the beta might be expanded to more users:
“As part of this release we are broadening the beta pool by quite a bit.”
Prepare ship for ludicrous speed! Fasten all seatbelts, seal all entrances and exits, close all shops in the mall, cancel the three ring circus, secure all animals in the zoo!
Okay, no more posting late at night under the influence of NyQuil.

Ryan on Nyquil…a scary thought! lol! I love the RSS idea. I am hearing alot on the forum about personalized email addresses being added to Yahoo! mail (both regular and beta). What gives? I am a premium member but I can’t find it in the mail anywhere. I sthat in your realm?
Thanks for all you and your group do, Ryan!

Melinda, I found the link for it back in the older Yahoo! Mail. But this should get you to where you need to go:

Give that a try and see if it’ll let you set up the spare address.
