Behaving badly
I’ve installed the Bad Behaviour WordPress plugin to see how well it deals with comment spam. Bad Behaviour looks at user agent traffic profiles and compares it to the behavior of known spambots. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. Please let me know if you experience any issues accessing my site over the next week or two.
Depending on how Bad Behaviour does or doesn’t work out, I may give Spam Karma 2.0 a try as well.

Boo yah…Bad Behavior already snagged it’s first “victim”. I’ll have to write a PHP frontend plugin for it’s logging database. Until then, phpMyAdmin is giving me the lowdown on what’s being caught.
There’s also 2 requests for my RSS feed that were flagged. Not sure why it’s being so protective of that.

One piece of spam managed to sneak its way past Bad Behaviour during the night. On the flip side, it stopped 6 pieces of comment spam. So far I’m relatively pleased. But I’ll be even happier when I see good results after another 100+ message spam flood comes through
