We recently put up a new version of the beta. Here’s a list of changes for anyone interested. The first list of changes were made back on October 4th. The second set of changes were made more recently.
Changes back on October 4th

- Fixed another case of mail polling in Firefox causing the app to steal the focus.
- Fixed runtime error when printing from Contacts view with no contact selected.
- Fixed Firefox-specific bug where tabbing into the message compose area did not place the cursor in the upper left corner.
- Added tooltips to all icons in the message list, iconographic message headers and recent searches menu.
- Fixed runtime error when canceling the sign out command with an unsent message open.
- Fixed formatting of close confirmation dialog in Firefox.
- Cleaned up occurrences of ‘Address Book’ (moving to ‘Contacts’ everywhere).
- Manually checking for new mail now restarts the auto-check countdown.

Recent Changes
- When user changes the character set encoding from the browser, we try to use that encoding for international emails that have been misslabeled.
- Fixed bug where error dialog with text ‘ymwsSetMessageFlag:Failed’ appeared in certain cases of forward and reply.
- Fixed bug where long names of existing contacts wrapped on send confirm page, overlapping other contacts.
- Fixed Firefox bug where clicking page anchors in message body opened blank in new window.
- Adding a folder now checks for existence of other folders named ‘untitled’ and increments suffix to avoid name collision.
To get these fixes you need only close and reopen the Yahoo! Mail Beta.

Thank you very much for posting these changes. I hope it helps us beta testers to help you more.

Sounds great - thanks for the update! As a long time Plus user who is completely centralized/standardized on Y! Mail and Firefox, I look forward to using the new version.
I am also good with trying out new things, so if you have any spare invites laying around, please let me know.
Cheers!
John
Thanks for the Update for the Yahoo mail beta, I am still getting one of the error messages,
Do you know when there is going to be another yahoo mail update.
We usually put out an update every couple of weeks. If you click on the “Yahoo! Mail Beta” logo in the upper-right corner you’ll actually see our build numbers and the build date. So you can see when we’ve updated things. Which error message are you still seeing?
The error message that I am still Seeing is
ymwsSetMessageFlag:Failed’
Ah, yeah…we’re working on that one. All I can say is be patient. We’re on the case.
is there going to be a way to change the color of the yahoo mail user interface just like the old user interface.
You know, I’m not sure. I actually don’t work on the UI itself, so I’m somewhat disconnected from the feature development going on there. I’m sure it will be given consideration, though.
When I worked at Excite we rolled out a new beta that didn’t have the ability to change the color scheme (the previous version did). We got such an earful from the users that we ended up putting it on the roadmap to implement. Unfortunately we went out of business and didn’t get to finish the beta.
So if you’re really passionate about a feature from the current Yahoo! Mail that isn’t in the beta, hammer the feedback. Make sure we know just how badly you want a given feature and you’re more likely to get it. It is by no means a guarantee that you’ll get it, but you will be much more likely to get it if a significant number of users ask for it.
Is the Options menu going to be added into the new interface
At some point. I think the primary focus so far has been on the mail features.
Is yahoo going to be adding More Style Fonts to the Rich Text menu Bar
ryan i really think they should create colour themes, windows live have started doing it, im that close to leaving yahoo for live, i am a paid subscriber to yahoo plus, i expect a decent level of customisability, any chance you could pass this on personally to the gui team?
You’re not the first to bring up color themes, so I know the engineering team is well aware of the desire to have them. When I worked at Excite we had the same problem. We rewrote the whole thing but left out color themes because we didn’t think they were all that important. Turns out there’s a very vocal minority of users who want their color themes.
Seriously though, would you actually leave Yahoo! just because it doesn’t have color themes? Seems like an awful criteria to use for picking a mail provider.
