Bloglines is awful
I’m not sure what’s up, but Bloglines has been getting progressively worse. It simply can’t keep up with feeds. For instance, I’ve been following Jacob Applebaum’s blog for all of his Katrina coverage. I haven’t seen a single update since Tuesday, September 6th. Today is Friday, September 9th. There are a ton of new entries since the 6th. Why on earth isn’t Bloglines keeping up?
This isn’t the first time, either. I’ve had problems with other feeds in the past. I once sent them a comment letting them know and almost instantly those feeds updated (although, they were missing several articles). But damnit, I shouldn’t have to prod them with a stick.
I’ve enjoyed using Bloglines. I like the interface and I love having access to my feeds on whatever computer I happen to be logged into. But I treat feed articles like I treat my mail, I get mad when they don’t arrive.

Try SharpReader. Not too bad.

Unfortunately, I don’t want a desktop aggregator unless there’s some way to synchronize read/unread state between instances. That’s why I prefer a web client.
