Armageddon looms
In case you haven’t noticed (and I’m sure you haven’t) I’ve been getting slammed my a metric buttload of comment spam lately. I’m not sure what triggered it, but in the last week I’ve been assaulted by literally dozens of pieces of comment spam a day. I’m not sure if I suddenly started showing up on some search engine or if a trackback I did caught their attention, but the comment spammers have been after me lately.
I’ve been way too busy with work and my side project to muster the drive to do much about this. So far I’ve just been keeping my eyes glued to my comments feed so I can squash the spam before any search engines crawl me and give them any extra “rank”. But this can’t scale. It was okay when I got 10 pieces of spam a week, but I’m getting 20-40 a day all of a sudden.
As soon as this latest release of my side project goes out the door, it may be time for me to refocus on a new side project. Me and my buddy Fluffy will see if we can’t show these freeloading whores how we do things downtown.
