By now you may have noticed the blog is redirecting from insomniac.dyndns.org to unclehulka.com. This is not some strange attack. I have, in fact, finally gotten myself a domain name. I’ve set up domain hosting and web hosting through DreamHost (Ken gets the referral on this one). I’m happy with what I’m seeing so far, although it’s slightly annoying that many of the administrative changes I make take up to 2 hours to propagate.
Assuming I can get the import feature working, I’m going to make a second attempt to convert my blogs to WordPress. It looks like DreamHost has some pretty nice support for setting up WordPress-based blogs.
For now, though, I’m happy to have my own domain and have my web site no longer hosted off my DSL line (it was mostly an issue of my DSLs availability). The existing insomniac.dyndns.org blog URLs still work (I’ve set up redirects to the new domain), assuming my web server at home is working.
