I hate being fat, part 2

We’ve already established that I hate being fat. Time to do something about it. Tomorrow morning I start the Abs Diet Challenge. The plan is, drop 5-10% of my body weight in the next 6 weeks. That means that on February 13th I should have my body weight down to between 219 and 208 pounds (as of this morning, I weigh a tubby 231 pounds on my 5′9″ frame). Is that doable? Of course it is! I dropped 11 pounds in the first two weeks on the South Beach Diet and that was without visiting the gym.

It won’t all be easy, though. I do face some issues:

  • Balance my meals throughout the day, including the day I wake up at 4am to drive down to the Bay Area from Sacramento.
  • Eat well while living 3 days a week away from home.
  • Stay off the soft drinks when there’s a free soda fountain downstairs.

I did well on the South Beach Diet, though, so I’m not concerned. I’m actually looking forward to seeing the pounds come off again. Hopefully for good this time.
